About Ambrosia ZeroOne
Multidisciplinary Artist, Educator & Community Builder
Hi there! I’m Ambrosia—a creative hybrid with a passion for turning stories into visuals and classrooms into canvases. For over 15 years, I’ve bridged the worlds of art, education, and community activism, crafting spaces where creativity and inclusivity collide.
My Journey
I began my career as a Spanish teacher, but the classroom was never just about verbs and vocabulary. I wove art and cultural storytelling into every lesson, helping students see language as a living, visual tapestry. When the pandemic hit, I pivoted to remote teaching, designing digital resources that kept creativity alive—proving that art thrives even in uncertainty.
These days, I’m an educator and curriculum designer by day, mentoring students in graphic design and portfolio development. By night, you’ll find me at underground LA raves or queer community markets, sketching live portraits and selling stickers and art prints that spark dialogue. My freelance work, from logo design for corporate clients to live art at events like Bass N Babes, Manic Pixie Dream Market, Ethereal Festival, or Transcendent Tuesdays, all serves to reflect my belief that art should be bold, accessible, and unapologetically human.
Why I Create
Art, for me, is a tool for connection. Whether I’m designing award plaques for Fortune 500 companies or curating pop-up art experiences at flea markets, I aim to amplify voices often left unheard. My work is rooted in LGBTQ+ advocacy and collaboration with marginalized communities, blending vibrant aesthetics with ethical intentionality.
What Drives Me
Inclusivity: I design with empathy, ensuring every project celebrates diverse narratives.
Mentorship: Teaching isn’t a job—it’s a calling. I thrive on empowering emerging artists.
Playfulness: From Instagram Reels documenting my process to neon-bright event artwork, I believe art should be fun.
Let’s Connect!
When I’m not teaching or sketching, I’m probably geeking out over retro typography, rereading Ian M. Banks' The Culture series or plotting my next community art project. Want to collaborate, chat about design, or share your favorite queer-owned LA coffee spot? Reach out—I’d love to hear from you.
